What are the event dates?
Fluent Frontier Fellowship takes place April 1-4, 2027 at The Refuge in Ayden, NC.

What does my general admission ticket include?
General admission includes access to:
All classes* on the day you purchased, Demonstrations and Lectures, Vendors, Activities*, Music & Entertainment, Live Demos, Hiking Trails, Fishing, & Food Trucks
* Hands-on classes, activities, or classes requiring materials may have an additional fee to be handled by the instructor, which will be listed on the schedule and during the class.
Do I need to sign up for classes ahead of time?
Yes — we prefer that attendees sign up for classes beforehand so instructors can prepare and manage class sizes, as most sessions have a limited capacity.
However, walk-ups are welcome for most classes unless otherwise noted. Classes with material fees or limited space may require advance registration.
Are kids allowed?
Yes! This is a family-friendly event and we have many classes for children. Children under 16 years old must remain with a parent or guardian at all times. Some classes may not be suitable for young children, parent discretion advised.Â
Is camping included in general admission?
No. General admission includes day access only.
Camping options (tent, hammock, RV boondocking, or bunkhouse lodging) can be chosen at checkout when buying over night ticket packages.
What time do gates open?
Thursday: Instructors & Vendors arrive at noon. Members check-in at 4pm (no classes or general admission)
Friday: 7:00 AM -Camper check in. 8:00AM – General Admission
Saturday: 8:00 AM General Admission
Sunday: 8:00 AM General Admission
Is food available on-site?
Yes! Small Farm & Food trucks will be available for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, and for lunch on Sunday.
Breakfast is not included with general admission.
Member breakfast will be provided.
Can I bring my pet?
No. For the safety of guests and livestock animals, pets are not permitted at the event. Due to the presence of livestock and venue policy, only service animals with proper documentation are allowed on site. We appreciate your understanding.
Is alcohol permitted?
Frontier Fellowship is a family-friendly, alcohol-free event. In accordance with venue policy, The Refuge does not allow alcohol on the premises, and we respectfully ask all attendees to honor this guideline.
Is smoking allowed?
Yes. There will be designated areas for smoking legal tobacco products only.
Are drugs or illegal substances allowed at Fluent Frontier Fellowship?
No. Illegal drugs and controlled substances are strictly prohibited anywhere on event grounds. We are committed to maintaining a safe, family-friendly environment for all attendees, instructors, vendors, and staff. Anyone found in possession of or using illegal substances may be removed from the event without refund.
What should I bring?
We recommend:
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Water bottle
- Notebook + pen
- Hat or sun cover
- Camping gear (if applicable)
- Toiletries (if applicable)Â
- A chair in case spaces fill up (we will have some seating at most workshops)
- We will allow bicycles on campus for those who’d like to bring them.
- Cash for vendors & make and take classes (some may not accept cards)
What happens if it rains?
Fluent Frontier Fellowship is a rain-or-shine event. Certain classes or activities may adjust locations due to weather conditions, but the event itself will continue as scheduled.
In the case of hurricanes or severe weather, cancellations or schedule changes will be communicated through our website, email, text updates, and social media channels.
Refunds will only be issued if the event is canceled due to a natural disaster.
Is re-entry allowed?
Yes, as long as you still have your wristband, stamp, badge, or ticket.Â
Can I get a refund?
Tickets are non-refundable, but they can be transferred to another person/day. You must contact Brittany Sanborn to update the ticket name/day of admission.Â
Will there be first aid on-site?
Yes, trained personnel will be available for basic first aid needs. Please follow signs if needed.
Are firearms allowed at Fluent Frontier Fellowship?
For the safety of all attendees, loaded firearms are not permitted anywhere on campus or event grounds. Firearms used for demonstrations, educational purposes, or carried by authorized personnel must remain unloaded unless otherwise approved and supervised by event staff.
Failure to follow this policy may result in removal from the event without refund.
How can I stay updated?
Follow us on social media and sign up for our email list to stay updated on class announcements, schedule releases, event information, and important updates. Registered attendees will also receive email and text notifications. Please be sure to regularly check your inbox and spam/junk folders so you don’t miss important information.
What is Bunkhouse Lodging?
The Refuge offers several bunkhouse-style buildings available for an additional charge. These include air conditioning, quiet areas, parking, showers, electricity, some have kitchenets, and bathrooms. One bunkhouse is handicap accessible—please communicate any accessibility needs with Brittany Sanborn. Please note: linens and toiletries are not provided, so guests must bring their own or purchase some (quantities limited).Â
Additional Lodging, Local Dining, & Things to Do Nearby
While on-site camping is available at The Refuge, there are also several hotels, campgrounds, and short-term rental options located in and around Ayden, Greenville, and the surrounding area. Some allow pets if you must travel with your dog or cat, remember The Refuge does not allow pets on campus.
Visitors will find a variety of local restaurants offering everything from casual dining to regional favorites, all within a short drive of the event.
For those interested in extending their stay, The Refuge is also conveniently located just a couple of hours from North Carolina’s beautiful coastline, making it easy to turn your trip into a longer getaway and enjoy nearby beaches before or after the event.

By purchasing tickets to, vending or instructing at Fluent Frontier Fellowship, I acknowledge that the following applies to myself/my party (those in my ticket purchase) and/or any minor child or dependent accompanying me:
I am voluntarily attending Fluent Frontier Fellowship and understand that participation in outdoor activities, demonstrations, workshops, camping, classes, and related event activities involves inherent risks. I understand that while attending this event and being present on event property, I do so at my own risk. I accept full responsibility for my own safety, wellbeing, actions, and personal property, as well as the safety and supervision of any minor accompanying me.
I agree not to hold Fluent Frontier LLC, Fluent Frontier Fellowship, the property owners, instructors, volunteers, sponsors, staff, vendors, event coordinators, or anyone associated with the organization and operation of this event liable for any injury, illness, loss, damage, accident, theft, death, or harm that may occur to myself, my family members, guests, or property while attending the event.
I understand that outdoor environments contain natural and man-made hazards including, but not limited to: uneven terrain, water hazards, wildlife, insects, weather conditions, campfires, tools, demonstrations, sharp objects, falling limbs, and physical activities. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to assess my surroundings, act responsibly, and exercise caution throughout the event.
I understand that Fluent Frontier Fellowship is an outdoor event held rain or shine. I am responsible for bringing appropriate clothing, shelter, equipment, hydration, food, and supplies necessary for my comfort and safety.
I understand that ticket purchases are non-refundable unless otherwise stated by event organizers.
Photography & Video Release:
I grant Fluent Frontier LLC, Fluent Frontier Fellowship, and its representatives permission to photograph and/or record video of me and any accompanying minors during the event. I authorize the use of these images and recordings for lawful promotional purposes including social media, advertising, websites, print materials, and future event marketing without compensation or prior approval.
Camping & Site Safety:
I understand that camping and outdoor participation carry additional risks. I agree to use caution when selecting campsites and to be mindful of potential hazards including dead trees or limbs, insects, wildlife, uneven terrain, flooding areas, fire hazards, poison ivy, and other natural dangers.
Water Safety:
I understand that streams, ponds, lakes, and other bodies of water may be present on the property and may create additional hazards. I acknowledge that participation in water-related activities is entirely at my own risk.
Food, Water & Hygiene:
I understand the importance of proper hygiene and food safety practices while attending the event. I acknowledge that untreated water sources may contain contaminants or microorganisms and understand that I am responsible for my own food and water safety.
Wildlife & Natural Areas:
I understand that wildlife on the property is undomesticated and may be dangerous. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with encountering wildlife, insects, livestock, or natural hazards while attending the event.
Weapons & Safety Equipment:
Firearms are not permitted in camp areas, common gathering spaces, or instructional areas unless otherwise authorized by event staff. Any bows, slingshots, atlatls, fishing spears, or similar projectile devices must remain unloaded except in designated demonstration or shooting areas. Fireworks, explosives, or dangerous devices are prohibited.
Vehicles & Parking:
Vehicles must remain in designated parking or driving areas unless otherwise instructed by event staff.
Quiet Hours:
Please be respectful of fellow attendees. Quiet hours are observed between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
Trash & Property Respect:
Attendees are expected to properly dispose of trash, respect the property, and leave campsites and common areas clean.
Minor Release for Emergency:
In the event of a medical emergency involving a minor under my supervision, I authorize emergency medical treatment if I cannot be immediately reached.
Illegal Drugs, Smoking, & Alcohol:
Illegal drugs and unauthorized alcohol are prohibited at this event. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas.
I understand that failure to follow event rules, staff instructions, or safety guidelines may result in removal from the event without refund and possible restriction from attending future Fluent Frontier Fellowship events.
