Waterway Trapping Services

Frequently
Asked
Questions

What types of animals do you handle?

We handle a variety of wildlife, including squirrels, raccoons, snakes, muskrats, foxes, opossums, beavers, coyotes, and other common nuisance animals.

Is wildlife removal humane?

We aim to treat wildlife with the utmost respect, using humane methods and best management practices (BMPs) that prioritize the safety and well-being of the animals. Should euthanization be required, every effort is made to harvest as much as possible from the animal to ensure nothing goes to waste.

– How do I know if I have a wildlife problem in my home?

Signs of a wildlife problem include unusual noises, droppings, chewed wires, walls, or wood, nests, or damaged insulation.

– How much does wildlife removal typically cost?

Costs vary depending on the type of animal, the extent of the issue, and necessary repairs. However, we can provide an estimate after an assessment. The initial assessment fee is $150 and will be applied toward your final bill if you proceed with our services.

– Do you provide repair services for damage caused by wildlife?

Yes, in most cases, we offer repair services to fix damage. We will also assist in securing your property to prevent future issues.

– What should I do if I see a wild animal on my property?

This largely depends on the species in question. Most of the time, animals will avoid humans, and it is always a good idea to give them their space and not approach them. If it is a species of concern, contact a wildlife control agent for assistance, as handling wildlife can be both unlawful and dangerous.

– Can you help prevent animals from coming back?

Yes, we offer exclusion services to seal entry points and implement measures to prevent re-entry. We will also provide educational materials and advice on how to work with wildlife in the future to coexist without harm.

– Do you offer emergency wildlife removal services?

Yes, we provide emergency services for urgent wildlife issues that require immediate attention. Please call Kyle’s cell phone number on the contact us page for immediate assistance.

– What should I do if I find baby animals in my home?

Leave them undisturbed and contact a wildlife control agent to safely and humanely handle the situation. It is illegal to handle wildlife without proper licensing in North Carolina.

– Does a trap hurt the animal or have teeth?

Traps with ‘teeth’ or sharp edges are illegal in all 50 states. Foothold-type traps are designed to be little more than a handcuff holding an animal in place. It should also be noted that traps must be checked no less than once per day to limit the amount of time an animal is held. We strive to adhere to the Best Management Practices (BMP) for trapping in all of our trap selections. For more information on BMPs for trapping, check out this PDF file from the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies.

– How do I know what animal is the problem?

We identify the problem animal by examining signs such as droppings, tracks, nests, damage, or noises, combined with our expertise in wildlife behavior. A thorough inspection of your property will help us determine the culprit and develop a solution.
